The sheer popularity of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on its November 20th launch day caused significant internet slowdowns across Ukraine. Major internet providers, Tenet and Triolan, reported normal daytime speeds plummeting in the evening, directly attributed to the massive simultaneous downloads by Ukrainian gamers. Triolan's Telegram announcement (as translated by ITC) stated, "We're currently experiencing temporary reduced internet speeds. This is due to increased channel load from the huge demand for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 release."

Even after successful downloads, many players encountered login and loading delays. This nationwide internet disruption lasted for hours before resolving as players completed their downloads. The developers at GSC Game World expressed both pride and astonishment at this event.

Creative director Mariia Grygorovych shared, "It was tough for the whole country, and the internet disruption was a negative aspect, but at the same time, it was incredible!"
